BreezeAIR AXE software version 17.0023, add two major capabilities that further enhance the platform’s performance and reliability for critical network deployments.

The release introduces full support for the IEEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol (PTP), enabling accurate clock synchronization across BreezeAIR AXE wireless backhaul links.

This feature is essential for 5G and LTE networks, where precise timing is required for seamless handovers and advanced services. The feature is currently undergoing performance validation with mobile operators, with promising initial results that meet the strict timing requirements of modern mobile networks.

Version 17.0023 also adds 1+1 backup link support, providing network operators with robust redundancy options. The system allows configuration of a secondary backup link up to 2Gbps full duplex or 1Gbps uni-directional, ensuring uninterrupted service in case of link degradation or failure.

The backup can operate on the same frequency or across two separate frequencies, delivering RF path redundancy for mission-critical applications.
